Kevin Hart has responded to the backlash mounting over a joke in his newest Netflix stand-up particular, by which he seems to name his teenage daughter a ‘h*e’.
The Jumanji actor launched his new particular, Zero F***s Given, this month and whereas some followers have praised his comedic genius, others have taken offence to a specific joke about his 15-year-old daughter Heaven.
Within the particular, Kevin jokes that she instructed him: ‘“Dad, I don’t like Rob no extra. I like this boy named Tim”. Immediately, in my thoughts, I mentioned, “My daughter a h*e. That is hoe s**t. H*e exercise proper in entrance of my face”.’
Because the criticism gathered steam, Kevin then entered a room on stylish new app Clubhouse, which was titled: ‘Is Kevin Hart humorous??’
Throughout his time addressing the backlash, the comic made feedback which many deemed to belittle and gaslight Black girls.
Setting the file straight, Kevin hopped on Instagram this weekend and instructed his followers: ‘Right here’s what it’s: I’m not calling my daughter a h*e. I’m saying what she did was h*e-like exercise.
‘I referred to as three former h*es that I knew and requested them is that this h*e-like exercise. We had a dialog about it. A great backwards and forwards.’
He added: ‘Alright guys, we gotta cease. Cease with the false narrative. It’s a false narrative that’s being created and when you have been within the Clubhouse and part of the dialog, this wasn’t about Black girls. It wasn’t about me going towards Black. Cease.’
Explaining why he made an look on Clubhouse, Kevin mentioned there was ‘no different strategy to market or promote’ as a result of coronavirus pandemic.
‘I can’t go and do the speak reveals that I as soon as did, or exit and do the general public stunts. I’ve no different strategy to market and promote besides to go viral. I’ve to create conversations: generate backwards and forwards, that’s the advertising and promotion hooked up to my new particular,’ he defined.
The Trip Alongside actor then acknowledged: ‘Advertising, promotion, dialog: therefore, it results in streams.
‘So when you haven’t seen it go see it, Zero F**cks Given streaming now. However cease with the false narratives and the clicking bait.’
The 41-year-old sparked upset along with his feedback about Black girls when discussing the joke in Clubhouse, and was accused of degrading them by perpetuating tropes about their sexual behaviour.
Kevin is father to 4 kids – Heaven, 15, and Hendrix, 13, who he shares with ex-wife Torrei Hart; and Kenzo, three, and Kaori Mai, two months, along with his second spouse Eniko Hart.
